4 new models added

I’ve just uploaded the models for US Navy Gunners Mate, Air Traffic Control badge, Damage Controlman and USMC Air Support Squadron 1 crest.  This is a different order than I previously listed because the one I was working on, the US Military Academy crest, has many many many feathers and requests were starting to pile up.  So I knocked out the easy ones first.  Up next, the Special Boat Service blazer badge, the  US Military Academy crest, the US Army Freefall Parachute badge, Pathfinder badge and the 6 US Army Diver badges.

US Navy Training Squadron 6

I’ve just uploaded the model for TRARON 6, now back to our regular scheduled modeling.

I’ve changed up the pictures again.  I started out posting pictures simulating the cut in limestone simply because I liked how it looked.  Eventually I decided to just leave it in the color I modeled it in, yellow, and I’ve been doing it that way ever since.  Recently I was perusing one of my customers sites and he’s got pictures from my blog displayed on his site for his customers to view and pick.  I thought that was a great idea but since he’s carving them in wood I thought I’d start posting them in wood so end customers can get a better idea.  So going forward I’ll be posting all pictures simulated in wood grain rather than yellow.  Additionally if you have a particular model that you want to post on your site and you want a better picture just let me know and I’ll shoot them to you.  Unfortunately I won’t be going back over the pictures I’ve already done since that would require me to tool path and simulate cutting every model I’ve already made, easily several weeks work.  If you have particular models that you need in wood grain I’ll be happy to oblige, I just won’t be doing a bulk change.

Up next, the US Naval Academy crest followed by the US Military Academy crest, the Special Boat Service blazer badge, the US Army Freefall Parachute badge, Pathfinder badge and the 6 US Army Diver badges.

New model

The models for HMH-463 are ready for download.  Up next, US Army Freefall Parachutist badge followed by the Pathfinder badge, and the 6 diver badges.  These are the last 8 Army qualification badges.

A quick note about these models.  I make what I see in the picture I’m working from.  I don’t design these things from scratch, someone else has done that and the artwork was officially adopted so I stay with it.  Sometimes that is more difficult than others, and I have to force myself to make what I see rather than what I think it should look like.

Two more models posted

I’ve just finished uploading the Army Flight Surgeon and Astronaut wings.  Up next, HMH-463 (a USMC heavy helicopter squadron) followed by the US Army Freefall Parachutist badge, Pathfinder badge, and the 6 diver badges.  I listed 5 before but there are 6, and I’ll be doing all 6.

Ooops!

I just got an email following up on a message sent through my contact form, a message that I didn’t get.  So I tested my contact form and it didn’t work.  Looking at the code for it, somehow all the php code that made it work just disappeared, probably when I added the text about due dates.  Unfortunately I wasn’t smart enough to test it at that time, lesson learned.  However, it’s fixed now, so if you sent me a message through my contact form between June 8th and July 1 and didn’t hear back from me shortly after please re-send it, I didn’t get it.  Thanks.

Another new model

I’ve just added another new model, the Army Driver/Mechanic Badge.  Like the weapons qualification badges this only comes in 1 style, no dished or sculpted dished versions are available.  It comes with all currently authorized placards as well as a blank one that can be v-carved.  Despite the picture the placards are all separate files, I just linked them up in the picture for demonstration purposes.

Currently I have no requests so I’m going to try to knock out the rest of the US Army qualification badges.  Up next is Flight Surgeon wings, followed by Astronaut Wings, Freefall Parachutist badge, Pathfinder badge, and the 5 diver badges.  Any request that comes in will be done before this queue.
