I have replaced the crashing gallery with a new one. This new one is far superior to the old one. It’s much easier for me to update so that will speed up my upload process when I add new models, but it also has some very useful features.
We now have tags on the pictures, and anyone viewing the gallery can select tags to view and it will display only the pictures with the matching tags. So if you want to see any US Army Special Operations models click the tags for US Army and Special Operations and it will show you just those pictures. Tags are listed under “Tags” in some browsers and “Keywords” in others, but it’s right under the Quick Search box in the “Menu” menu.
We now have keyword searching, so if you’re looking for the US Navy Aviation Boatswains Mate badge you can search for that. I’d just search for Boatswain and pick it out of the results but the more precise your search terms the more exact your results.
I now have the ability to put a link in the picture description so now you can actually shop right from the gallery, no need to go to the product pages. Just click the link below the picture to be taken to the add to cart page.
I’ve added a section of the gallery for Craftsmen. These are folks who are in the business of cutting military emblems for other people. Right now there are 4 members of that group, two more have been invited but have not returned any pictures yet so are not visible. Each craftsman has a sub-album in that gallery that they can put pictures in, and links to their sites. If you want your business included in that gallery email me a link to your web presence and I’ll check you out. Note that you must have a web presence for your business, it doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just somewhere I can link the customers to get in touch with you. Facebook page, Etsy store, your own website, ebay store, whatever. I’m going to be a picky about this, it needs to be a business presence on the web so if you send me a link to a page that’s got a bunch of other stuff on it as well as your business I’m not going to include it.
You may notice there’s a place to log in with user name and password. That capability is reserved for the craftsmen I mentioned above and gives them the ability to manage their own albums. I’ve disabled registration so the only way to get in to that section is for me to add you.
There’s still a little bit of work to do, I’ve got 152 pictures in the US Army album that still need to have the title and description edited and tags added, I’ll likely finish that tomorrow. All of the gallery links on all my web pages have been updated to link to the new gallery, so if you’re still getting the old gallery update whatever page you were on before and click the gallery link or button again.
