So it’s been around 6 months since I stopped taking deadlines, and I’m no farther ahead in the queue.  The difference is that the people who have been waiting the longest have gotten their models now.  I was hoping to get down to less than 6 months wait time but as of right now I’m still at 8 months.  I’m not happy with that long of a wait but I have to be realistic, I’ve been nearly 80 in the queue for a long time and I’m still sitting at nearly 80 now.  So deadlines are coming back.

It’s not going to be the same as before.  There will be a $10.00 non-refundable fee, and I’ll be limiting the number of deadlines I take to 3 per month.  Neither of those numbers is carved in stone, I’ll see how it goes and adjust as I feel necessary.

Deadlines have been a huge pain in my ass.  I’ve never guaranteed a deadline but I still do everything I can to ensure I meet them.  I’ve missed 5, 4 of which were related to family medical emergencies and one due to me misreading the deadline date.  I don’t like them, and I may eliminate them again at some point, but I’m going to try this limit/fee system first.

So here we go.  If you want a deadline on your request, email me and we’ll see if we can work one out.  If we can’t come to an agreement there will be no deadline, bottom line.  If you say you need it by such and such a date and I’ve already got that booked I will not accept the deadline.  And again, these are non-guaranteed deadlines.  I’m a one man show, if I or a member of my family get sick or injured or if something comes up that prevents me from meeting the deadline there’s no one to do it for me.  If that happens I’ll notify you as soon as I can.

In other news, I’ll be hiking the Appalachian Trail next year.  I’m registered for departure on February 20, 2019.  At some point I’ll have to close the queue.  My goal is to have everything in the queue right now made by the end of January, which strange as it may seem is doable.  There’s a lot of easy stuff in the queue, stuff that I can knock out 5 or 6 in a day if I can get past the deadlines to get to it.  The site will stay up and purchases will still work for existing models but no new models will be added for approximately 6 months.

So here’s the current queue that I intend to have completed by the end of January.
