Changes are coming to the deadline system.  I’m currently working on three models that were requested seven months ago, and have been three of the top five in the queue since October.  I keep saying yes to deadline jobs and the people who are willing to wait keep having to wait longer and longer.  I think waiting seven months for this is unreasonable, and it drives me crazy to look at my queue and see all the request dates from June and July still there.  Add to that the number of deadlines I meet that don’t get purchased for weeks after the deadline.  If you could wait weeks to buy it I could wait weeks to make it and the poor guy that’s been waiting months for his non-deadline work may not have to wait so long.  If I’m going to stop working on someones model to meet someone else’s deadline I need that to be a real deadline.

So I just accepted a deadline.  It’s the last for a couple of months, I won’t be accepting any more until every model in italics in the queue is completed.  That will catch me up through August, which means I’ll still be five or six months behind when those are done.

When I start accepting deadlines again, they won’t be free.  I may set up a separate fee, or I may make a deadline contingent on purchasing a combo pack and paying in advance for it.  Or maybe something else that I may come up.  Or if you have a suggestion you can email me with it.

In other news, there is no more secondary queue.  Those models were in a secondary status because the person who requested them (yep, they’re all from one request) didn’t actually need them all for two years.  But that was fourteen months ago, so now they’ve all got a deadline of Nov 2018.
