You may be surprised to find out how often I make models within 1 day of request, even occasionally the same day. The two I just uploaded are an example, they were requested last night. If I post something that didn’t make it to the queue you can bet it was a rush job. There are times, though, when I’m too loaded down and have to stop doing that until I get a little caught up. This is one of those times, so I won’t be taking any deadlines due within the next 7 days.
I have also implemented a deposit for custom work. I actually did this some time ago but I just realized today that I never announced it. The deposit amount is $150 and must be paid before I’ll accept the job. If you have some custom work you want me to do be prepared for that because when we come to an agreement about price I’ll be sending you the link to pay the deposit.
Occasionally I have someone request that I call them on the phone. I’ve done this once. I ended up discussing this guy’s business and how he could integrate my models into it, with the ultimate conclusion being that, without an investment into some new software, he couldn’t. During that time I was on that phone call I was doing nothing else. If I’m engaged in a vocal conversation that’s all I’m paying attention to, that conversation, no multitasking. When I’m engaged with someone by email I have my music playing and I’m modeling. Last night is an example, I had 3 conversations going at once and was making an animal for a custom job. I didn’t get as far as I planned to on that animal, no one is as efficient doing multiple things as concentrating on one thing, but I got a significant part of it done. I’m a one man show guys, I can’t afford to spend time in one on one conversation.
And finally, a warning. April is coming. I’m not sure if that’s the beginning of pcs season or what but every year my queue blows up in April. So if you’re thinking about making a request, don’t sit on it too long.
